Spring Time Is Now Clog Time

Clogs. Whether you hate it or love it, you probably cannot avoid seeing them this season. Many high street brands have already produced their own version. By own version, I mean they have spawned their own imitation of the Chanel S/S 10 clogs.

For a (significant) fraction of the price, here are some alternatives - all sub $200.

Chanel, Free People

Jeffrey Campbell, Topshop

Not related to the above, but if you are looking for a pair of mules and you like Jeffrey Campbell's clinics (yes and yes for me), you will probably like this:

Wunderkind Fall 2010

"WUNDERKIND's signature style is defined by a subtle play between structured, tailored, masculine pieces, and soft fluid feminine shapes in sensuous, luxurious fabrics often enhanced by unexpected treatments..." - Wunderkind

To be quite honest, I have never heard of this German designer until I came upon the fall collection while browsing Style.com last week. The colors are amazing, the shoes are wonderful, the scarves are draped exactly right, and how many times have you seen a man in a pink blazer wearing printed trousers look so well-put-together?

Chanel Fall 2010 Jewelry

I'm usually not big on jewelry, but after viewing Chanel's Fall 2010 runway show, I want to head out and start buying some jewelry. I'm liking all the hand accessories from the rings, to the clutches, to the ice cube mini bags, to the hand bracelets? Yes, hand bracelets is what I will call them from now on since I'm not really sure what the proper name for these are, but Chanel sure had a huge selection of them on the runway.

Other than the jewelry, I have to say that the collection was a bit on the cold side.

A Little Gloom, A Little Black

Although I've been browsing around the web looking at new collections and possible finds, I definitely have not been in the buying mood lately. Some older and newer pieces have made me me happy, lately, and I have been perfectly fine with wearing them in different combinations throughout this winter. With that said, I spent months looking for something velvet and some type of body chain when both items were accessible at no extra cost.

This Gap velvet coat was something I bought in middle school (I have not grown!) and the body chain is something I converted from an Express chain belt that was purchased in high school.

Pairing all this with my Bebe mesh cut-out leggings, black Zipia vest, and French Connection dress.

Yes, another gloomy day.

I've been complaining about the weather here all winter, but in actuality, I am very grateful that Houston hasn't been impacted by flooding, hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, etc. 2010 is just approaching the end of its first quarter and there has been already been so many devastating natural disasters around the world. It's somewhat terrifying to think about how vulnerable we all are.

Missing You

Austin. I hate the pressure from school , the 24/7 traffic on 35, the hobos on the streets, and the religious/political/you-name-it propaganda everywhere.

Yes, it can even be a little weird at times.

Let's keep it that way. I'll be missing you.

Shadows

The Weather has been more than fickle these days. Right when I was about to say that we have been getting beautiful weather, the wind starts to pick up, the sky turns dark and it rains. Some people love this type of weather. And as much as I like curling up into a ball and sleeping during these times, I prefer the sun. I love it when the sun shines brightly and you can open up your blinds to let the natural light into your house. Artificial light can be depressing.

Despite my love for dressing up when it is the winter time, I'm glad that the days are becoming longer. There is more time to chase your shadows.
